Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 26, 2026
The short version. This website has no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no cookies. We learn nothing about you by your visiting it. If you buy something, our payment processor handles that and we see your email, your name, and what you bought. The trading software itself never contacts us at all.
1 · Who we are
This site and The Distillate are products of 10,000 Trials, a sole proprietorship based in Vallejo, California, which also does business as Algomist Labs. Questions about anything on this page: support@algomistlabs.io.
2 · What this website collects
Nothing. There is no analytics script, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no session recording, and no cookie set by us on any page of this site. We do not know who visits, how often, or what you read.
Two honest caveats:
- Web fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google's servers receive your IP address and browser details as part of that request. We receive nothing from it.
- Server logs. Our web server, like every web server, records requests it serves — IP address, timestamp, page, and user agent — for security and debugging. These are not linked to any person and are not analysed for behaviour.
3 · What we collect when you buy
Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as our payment processor and, on some purchases, as merchant of record. Stripe handles the card transaction end to end.
From a purchase, we receive and keep:
- your email address, so we can send you the download and support you;
- your name, as given at checkout;
- your TradingView username, if you chose to provide it, solely to grant you access to the invite-only chart companion;
- a record of what you bought, when, and for how much, which we are required to keep for tax and accounting.
We never see or store your card number. That stays with Stripe, whose own privacy policy governs it. Stripe may also collect information for fraud prevention and tax compliance in its own right.
4 · What the software collects
The Distillate does not report anything to us. Ever. There is no telemetry, no licence check, no usage tracking, and no update ping. Once you have downloaded it, we have no way of knowing whether you run it, how you configure it, what it trades, or how you do.
The software runs on your machine and connects only to:
- Your own Interactive Brokers gateway, on your own computer, using credentials you hold and we never see;
- a public market-data source, to fetch daily prices;
- your own Discord webhook, if and only if you choose to configure one — that sends to your server, not ours.
Your positions, balances, trades, and returns are yours. They live in your brokerage account and, if you keep them, in files on your own disk.
You are welcome to verify this. It is a single readable Python file, and it is the file we ship.
5 · Discord
Our Discord server is optional and joining it is entirely your choice. If you join, Discord's own privacy policy applies to your account and messages there, and we can see what any server admin can see. We do not link Discord identities to purchase records.
6 · Email
If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you and remember the context next time. We do not add you to a marketing list and we do not send newsletters.
7 · What we never do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.
- We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not build profiles of you or track you across other sites.
- We do not use your information to train anything.
We share data only with the service providers who make the business run — currently Stripe for payments, our email provider, and our web host — and only to the extent they need it. If we are ever legally compelled to disclose something, we will comply, and tell you where we are permitted to.
8 · How long we keep it
Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, which in the United States is generally seven years. Support correspondence is kept while it is useful. If you ask us to delete what we can delete, we will, though we cannot remove records we are legally required to retain.
9 · Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@algomistlabs.io and we will answer within 30 days. We will not charge you for it and we will not make you jump through hoops.
If you are in the EU or UK, our lawful bases are performance of a contract (delivering what you bought), legal obligation (tax records), and legitimate interests (security, and answering your emails). If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.
10 · Children
This is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
11 · Changes
If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. If a change is material and we have your email from a purchase, we will tell you.
